"The Kokoro Life - Program
This program is based on the biopsychosocial health model. Think of this as an intensive immersion and retreat spread over six weeks.
The first thing to know about this class is that the activities and components are a means to an end. That end is the complete activation and improvement of a person across all aspects of their self. Our goal is to be the single best well-being and personal development program on the planet. It has just started and Acton, MA has it.
Although this is a six-week program, students should think of it as six one-week programs to witness progress from beginning to end. This class is predicated on the latest theories in neural and physical plasticity being that people can improve every aspect of their lives with an effective approach. If a human is not growing in critical aspects like mental, physical and spiritual development, then there is a good chance that they are, or will be experiencing the decline that comes with aging or neglect. THIS DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THIS WAY. We see examples of body builders in their 90s. The world of well-being is telling us all – use it or lose it.
If you wanted to do one activity which would bring together everything a person could need to be fully-activated; then “The Kokoro Life” was designed to do that. It has an expectation to be profound in the lives of people who take this training. Each of the components of this program are profound, but the inclusion and integration of them all is life-altering. It is for people who would like to recapture, take back some youth or take a deep dive at resetting who they are physically, mentally and spiritually. It is a commitment to choosing your path and walking it.
The Kokoro Life – 6 Week Physical, Mental, Spirit and Social Program
We humans can reset our age clocks, like a fountain of youth. If you do not challenge yourself, you will lose your youthful abilities. You can also get faster and more athletic and turn back time. Our training is to find the best of what is possible if you train at the razor’s edge with the right approach and the right mindset. When you are done, you will be different.
One program integrates:
Physical Fitness Training: A personal training mindset, martial arts HIIT, conditioning, kickboxing, and athletic development like flexibility, agility, balance and coordination training. Classes will also utilize budo principles, self-defense and meditation/mind work. It is an immersion into another world.
Foundations Success Accelerator: We are born perfect, and due to the fears, insecurities and sacrifices of life, we adopt poisoned mindsets and limitations which cause us suffering. Kokoro Foundations is a six-step web-based training program which unifies, resets and allows for a perfect environment for transformation.
Group Achievement Coaching: Weekly web/phone to review the Kokoro Foundations program. Students discuss successes and challenges and engage in live coaching to experience breakthroughs and new thinking. The reflective power of a coaching session is powerful. Each session, students have an option to be coached on anything they are working on like career, weight-loss, life management or things that matter to them. We will learn to self-coach over time.
Lifestyle Medicine Training: This is usually where we choose the life-giving behaviors that we want to improve. We will incorporate lifestyle medicine practices (eating, sleeping, gratitude, screen management, and other behaviors) which lead to increased energy, focus, weight loss and improvements in mood and better biometrics (blood pressure, sugar, weight loss). Journal and track progress.
MyFitnessPal Training platform training, use to support nutritional habits, coach accountability and optional contests.
Social: This is a bond you will share with others in your class. Since we train together, we will socialize together and allow people to talk in a non-class format. We will have occasional outings outdoors or grab a table at a pub and laugh.
One activity incorporates so much physical training to develop: speed, power, athleticism, agility, breath, focus, coordination. There is an old school karate base which is how one can maximize their athleticism. As part of the training, students will learn Japanese budo culture which is centered on using martial training to develop deep self-understanding. Zen meditation and mushin will be cultivated.
Students should expect this to be a class that requires commitment. Each week, there are:
A 90-minute physical training class at Revolution Community Yoga
Kokoro Foundations Success Accelerator Program which could be 1-2 hours per week of a web-based video presentation program with mental exercises to create a new mindset.
Achievement Group Coaching is one hour per week over the web/phone. This is where people make progress.
Access to Kokoro’s digital wellness studio for classes on lifestyle medicine classes and workshops.
MyFitnessPal Training and support. We use this for meals and caloric management.
A social outing every few weeks. This could be a trip to True West or Acton Coffee after a workout, a local hike, game or something which builds bonds on the 3rd and 6th week (cost is on the student).
Nothing profound cannot be achieved without effort, time and habit. If you want something more, The Kokoro Life is for you.

What is The Kokoro Life?
The Kokoro Life is new and absolutely unique to Acton. This does not exist anywhere else on Earth so we have to educate people on this new approach.
It combines:
It is a blend of different physical, mental and spirit training. In-person classes for physical training and wellness integration and lectures. This is a combination of fitness training, athletic training, martial arts, self-defense, situational training and awareness, breath work, meditation and Zen cultivation. Although this class is a blended approach, it draws on a budo culture to achieve the purpose. Nothing else can do this. Effort is required but ability to do activities can be modified so most can participate. It is ultimately about YOUR progress.
A six step Foundations web-based course which focuses on creating the ideal interior climate. This is six weeks and only done once. We do this to train students in the best ways to view themselves, the world and their opportunity for greatness. The instructor wrote this program over years of client coaching engagements. It is a mini-mental wellness retreat.
Group coaching which aligns students with their goals and helps them achieve their vision. The reflective power of hearing others challenges and success is powerful. This is web-based.
Lifestyle Medicine - Our daily behaviors dictate the quality of our lives and the future of disease. The science is done and we have to put these practices in place. The question is do we suffer the challenges of the modern American life or do we seek better and live at a higher level. We will introduce lifestyle medicine activities, set goals and manage performance.
Social outings and gatherings like hikes, dining, events or just relaxing and enjoying spending time together.

You will learn a self-defense focused martial art to be a protector.
The power of a unique cultural experience where you are immersed into a Japanese budo training ecology and mindset. We use our training to build our indomitable spirit and ultimately adopt a “mushin” or no wind, Zen-like being we take into our lives. This is peace, serenity, wisdom and detachment.

Social and friendship development - We train and that training creates a sense of shared experience to extend this, we will do activities and events.
This combines everything we do. The purpose of this program is a radical opportunity to create a powerful immersion into a psychosocial experience rooted in resetting and refocusing, incorporating intense athletic and functional physical, mental and emotional training. Finally, by training and sharing a common experience with a shared mindset, we will become a social group and have monthly adventures and just hang and laugh. During our hang outs, significants are invited to come.
